Wheelchair Access

Regrettably, due to the constraints of our heritage listing, we are unable to significantly modify entrances to The Carrington Hotel. Wheelchair access is via our adjacent undercover carpark (entry from Katoomba Street). An accessible ramp provides access to Reception, or for guests in wider wheelchairs, the Billiards Room. The narrow interior corridors, doorways and lift at The Carrington cannot accomodate the dimensions of all wheelchairs – please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

ACCESSIBLE PUBLIC TOILET

An accessible toilet is located inside the hotel providing a disabled toilet with sufficient room for wheelchair access and assistance. Features include a lower mirror and wash basin, grab rails and braille signage.

ACCESSIBLE GUEST Room

The Carrington Hotel offers one accessible guest room on the first floor reached via a lift. Due to the constraints of our heritage-listed property, the lift is narrow – some wider wheelchairs may not fit. We recommend guests discuss their accessibility requirements with our staff prior to booking.  

Our accessible guest room can be configured with one king bed or twin beds upon request. The room’s ensuite bathroom includes walk-in shower; accessible toilet; and grab rails. Please note this room is an internal guest room, and does not offer natural light.

For guests able to walk short distances and manage some stairs, many guest rooms offer walk-in shower access including first-floor balcony rooms. These are accessible via the lift on the first and second floors.

Assistance Animals

The Carrington Hotel welcomes all visitors and guests with assistance animals, we do ask that you notify staff at the time of booking. You may be asked to provide a valid accreditation certificate as assistance animals are the only animals permitted inside our customer service areas. 

Please note, companion animals without accreditation are not permitted to enter The Carrington Hotel. They are welcome on the outdoor Piazza Lawn areas but must always be on leash. Guests or visitors with a companion animal that negatively impacts another patron’s experience may be asked to leave the premises to return at another time.

Parking

Disability parking spaces are available for guests and visitors. For hotel guests, these are located on the top and secure underground levels of our Parking Garage. Day visitors can access disability parking spaces on the top level of the carpark via the Parke Street entrance.

Baby Change Facilities

Baby change facilities are available in the accessible toilet, located on the ground floor of The Carrington Hotel.

PRAMS, STOLLERS & MOBILITY AIDS

The Carrington Hotel is accessible via ramp located at the rear of the building and adjacent the undercover car park (entry via Katoomba Street). Please note double side-by-side prams and larger tandem prams will not fit through the access doors or ramp and will need to be packed down for access.

Dietary Requirements

Please inform our staff of any food allergies or dietary requirements when ordering at our dining venues. Our kitchen is generally able to accommodate most requests and can provide gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options.
