Step back in time and experience the elegance, charm and spirited delight of the Regency era at The Carrington Regency Ball, a full-day celebration honouring the literary legacy of Jane Austen. This immersive event will transport you into Austen’s world with a day of refined entertainment, culminating in an enchanting evening of music, dancing and Regency glamour.

Day time activities from 11am

📍Baroque Room – Regency Dance Lessons 

Learn the art of elegant Regency dance with expert guidance from The Short Dented Potts. Two one-hour sessions will be held at 11:00am and 1:00pm, each with a capacity of 40 people.

These sessions are included in your ticket, but bookings are essential — please nominate your preferred session when reserving.

Browse a curated collection of vintage homewares, clothing and elegant apparel from one of the region’s most beloved vintage specialists.

Evening Ball from 7pm

Dress in your Regency finest and join us for an elegant cocktail-style event in true Austen fashion.

Enjoy a grazing station and drinks package, with live music and period dancing led by The Short Dented Potts. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a first-timer, friendly guidance will be provided throughout the evening.

This event will feature the Short Dented Potts including Kathy Potter on flute and harp, Kim Short on bass, guitar and drums, Leo Dent on piano and accordion and, David Potter as the dance caller. Well known in regency circles, this energetic ensemble will bring historical dance music to life. The Short Dented Potts blend musical excellence with passion and wit. From refined 18th-century melodies to rollicking reels, this group guarantees an unforgettable experience.

Each member brings decades of experience across classical, folk, and contemporary music. With David’s expert and humorous dance calling, you’re sure to be in safe (and entertaining) hands on the dance floor!
