Akitu Records & Fusion Boutique Present
TIJUANA CARTEL ‘Bumblebee’ Tour
+ Special Guest SheJ
Live in Concert at the Baroque Room, Carrington Hotel
SATURDAY 16th May 2026 –Doors Open 7pm | Show Start 7:35pm

Tijuana Cartel fuse hypnotic electronica with flamenco guitar, Middle Eastern grooves, and bold trumpet lines – crafting a genre-defying sound that’s unmistakably their own.
Based in the Byron Bay region, the band is driven by guitarist Paul George and producer/keyboardist Carey O’Sullivan, with percussionist Sheila Finke and Trumpet player Tristan Rogers.
Drawing from a diverse range of genre influences – from melodic tech and organic house to punchy midtempo and broken beat – their sound incorporates bass, layered soundscapes, rolling percussion, live horn, and, of course, that guitar.
Longtime festival favourites in Australia and abroad, they’ve built a loyal following with sets that feel equally at home on the big stage or at boutique gatherings.
Tijuana Cartel deliver an immersive sonic journey, matched with hand-crafted, custom animated visuals – easily one of the most unique live experiences you’ll catch all year.
+ Special Guest SheJ
Born in Germany, and living years in New Zealand and Australia, SheJ harnesses this cultural diversity in her music. Hypnotised at the age of 8 by all things that go bang, SheJ, her drum kit and percussion became lifelong buddies and continue to be a rhythmic driving force in her sets today.
Touring with her father and the infamous Mojo club around Germany in her mid-teens she spent many a night soaking up the art of DJing side stage. This began a deep and intoxicating relationship with genres such as acid jazz, Electronica, Afrobeat, Deep house and Minimal Tech. While some find memorabilia satisfaction in snow globes or lederhosen, SheJ returned with Laurent Garner, Ian Pooley, Carl Cox and Peggy Lee to add to the ever-growing vinyl collection.
