SATURDAY 7th November 2026

Sydney’s ‘chainsaw folk’ trailblazers The Crooked Fiddle Band return to celebrate 20 years of boundary-pushing, genre-defying music.
Renowned for their cinematic sound and explosive live energy, the band has spent two decades reinventing folk-fusing virtuosic strings, driving rhythms and dark storytelling into something entirely their own. Rallying around the visceral violin of Jess Randall, their dynamic show has been honed on festival stages around the world.
Join them at The Baroque Room for a special anniversary performance celebrating 20 years of The Crooked Fiddle Band – past, present and future.
“This band really is a national treasure and testament to the infinite talent that keeps manifesting in our backyard… they have reinvented folk music as it is known.” – Vanessa Lahey, Australian Stage
“It is rare to hear genuinely original music these days, but when you listen to The Crooked Fiddle Band, your mouth will drop open.” – Bruce Elder, SMH
“Absolutely jam-packed with mind-blowing, face-melting, jaw-dropping, head-spinning moments” – Jazmin O’sullivan, themusic
“Their concept, fusing traditional styles and instruments with a modern, eclectic and experimental approach is ambitious, yet their dedication and commitment have been rewarded with longevity and international reach that has inspired many other musicians, myself among them.” – Steve Albini
