Often providing a stunning backdrop, The Carrington Hotel is renowned for beautiful, intricate stained glass. From the splendid Art Nouveau façade installed by Sir James Joynton-Smith in 1912, to the pretty stained-glass windows in many guestrooms.
As you wander through Champagne Charlie’s Cocktail Bar to the Grand Dining Room, take a moment to look up and admire the magnificent stained-glass Dome. This impressive architectural feature, along with the Minstrel Gallery, are both additions to the hotel commissioned by Joynton-Smith in preparation for the British Royal Visit in 1927.
The celebrated stained glass is carefully maintained and repaired, often with the involvement of highly-skilled local stained glass artist Robyn Austin.
